thinking ahead

The look and feel of my whole project is going to be grave, mostly using black and white pictures. Others will try to capture judges with color and vibrancy but if I do just the opposite then that will make them question what my project is about. If I put weird alarming art as my visuals they will at least have a curiosity as to what I am going for. And what my end product is.
I am not going to use any other props for this because I think that simplicity is the best way to get your point across to the viewers. But the way that I will make my presentation more memorable among others is that i will have real life stories that talk about the injustices that have been occurring in the court of law when dealing with child abuse.

creating my capstone poster

The pictures that i got first to make my posters were
  • a photo of a dark room
  • a little girl standing alone
  • a silloutte of a man
and i cut out the little girl and the man and put it on the dark room photos.
and made a light beam

Black out

I think that SOPA and PIPA passing a bill does have its reasons
  • stopping copyright
But honestly the ultimate reason for this is control, control of U.S citizens and what they can view and can't. Yes copywriter is bad as well as plagiarism  but ideas are not born from one soul, so why should one person receive all the credit for something forever just because they got it out there first. Someone else would have thought of a similar thing anyways. People do not deserve as much credit as they think, an ego boost does not make the world a better place.
Wikipedia is taking a stand against this bill by having a black out, much similar to "A day without a Mexican". I agree with this movement because, you don't know what you've got till it's gone. Making apathetic people angry and irritated proves a point and action. I think the effect of this will cause people to be more in opposition to those silly bills.

Three

There will not be and purchases necessary to complete my overall goal of creating the child abuse guidelines. As I mention previously, I will be using hard hitting photos to depress the audience in a productive way, and those are the types of visuals I will be putting on my poster so that I can get an interest going on my topic. I do not want to use anything tangible because the guidelines are my main focus and I don't want to divert from that too much.
My appearance during the presentation will formal to get the audience to understand that I am serious and I am a firm believer in what I'm doing.
I will not be using a brochure, game, or animation.

Two

Due to the severity of child abuse my presentation will be serious. The colors will be dark to portray the sad emotion. I am going to use emotional appeal to get the audience on board to the fullest extent.
I feel that since child abuse is obviously a topic that most people can agree is a terrible occurrence, so all I have to really do is get the people active and excited about my guidelines. I will do this by using pictures of abused children with injuries and also use real life stories.

One

Right now in the state of Texas there is not a definite rule as to what constitutes as child abuse, so my overall goal is to create an outline that will be used in the courts of Texas, in the hopes that it will spread to all the other states in the U.S. But this guideline will be more specific in determining what exactly "child abuse", is. this is so that it will be less subjective in the decision making of weather or not a case "abusive" or "not abusive".
Why is it important and why should we care?
it is important to prosecute parents who are abusing their children because the psychological damage that is caused to kids has an effect on their future behaviors. An over stated cliche would be that children are the future but this is what I am going off of. this is also an insurance that we have healthy individuals in the United States.
How do these goals fit with your career objective?
since i want to major in criminal justice this actually fits in really well with my career objective. i am getting a head start on learning laws of child abuse and this will prepare me for other fields in the law as well.
How does your project give back to society?
My intention is to protect the well being of children and possibly stop any further physical or emotional pain caused to children who are incapable of protecting themselves.
